Yet another late post. My apologies. I’ve been too preoccupied with other things that I’ve neglected my blog. So to catch you guys up on what’s been happening… Over the weekend, we had a little get-together with some of our store’s present and ex-colleagues. Although we all have our complaints about the store, I am thankful for the friendships that formed along the way. We’ve been trying to have these get-togethers every so often so we can all stay in touch, and what better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than with good food and good company?

^^The last time that boyfriend and I went to Smorgasburg, we saw people walking around with pork buns and I made a mental note to myself to try it next time..
^^And we did! (Oh, and my sister came back from Pittsburgh for a little while before school starts again, so we all hung out at Smorgasburg.)

^^These guys… Aren’t they just adorable?
^^Another place I wanted to try last time. Deji means pig in Korean. (They used the two dots from the ‘j’ and ‘i’ for the piggy nose. Such a cute idea!)
^^We tried their Spicy Bellyroll Sammich. (Didn’t really have a choice since there’s only two items on the menu and the other one was sold out.) Never thought of having spicy pork belly on a baguette like that, but the kimchi and perilla gave it just the right amount of Korean flavor.

^^Cheesing it.
^^Mango-lassi push-pops!
^^We found a cute little french bulldog!
^^Love them.
^^REUNITED! Well, some of us. (Just realized, why is Simon not in this picture..?)

And just because I feel like adding a picture of Mochi..

new obsession: pinterest!

Okay, so Pinterest has been around for quite some time now. I admit that I’m a tad late to jump on the bandwagon but I’ve just recently discovered my latest obsession.

I didn’t understand what the fuss was all about until one day, I was googling (yes, I use Google as a verb) for some ideas on garden weddings and one of the top links was a Pinterest link. And that’s where it all spiraled out of control… I’m currently at 11 boards and 700+ pins and counting. From wedding ideas and home d├ęcor to DIY and cooking/baking boards, there’s just so many ideas and inspiration for things I want to do in the future! And can I just say that I am in love with mason jars? Who knew there were so many uses for them and so many different way to decorate them? Love!

So, what do you guys have on your Pinterest boards? Feel free to share your links and browse through my PINTEREST as well. Happy pinning! (:

chihuly garden + glass

I know my posts have been a bit sparse lately, to the say the least. Hope everyone had a fun Fourth of July weekend! So where did I leave off from our Pacific Northwest adventures…? Oh, yes. The Chihuly Garden & Glass! It was my favorite part of Seattle (besides Faith and Adrian’s wedding, of course)! Oh, and Mt Rainier, too. Can’t forget that.

Before we headed over to the the Space Needle + Chihuly Garden & Glass, we decided to check out one of Tom Douglas’ restaurants, Lola, for brunch. I used to be the girl who would always order pancakes or french toast, but I’m slowly moving over to the savory side of brunch. And I actually like it! (If you know me, you know I’m a picky eater.)

^^We ordered some made to order doughnuts with their seasonal jam and vanilla mascarpone. They shook it up in a brown bag so all of the sugar gets distributed evenly. (I said I’m slowly moving to the savory side of brunch, doesn’t mean I gave up my sweets completely!)
^^Boyfriend ordered Tom’s Big Breakfast | Mediterranean octopus, sugar snap peas, corn, bacon, cilantro, sweet onions, mint yogurt, with a sunny egg, and toast. I had the Wild Mushroom Scramble | fontina, basil with smashed garlic fried potatoes, bacon, and toast. (Their rye toast with butter was awesome!)

Now, onto our visit to Chihuly’s Garden & Glass…

^^Persian seaform ceiling, similar to the one he made for the Bridge of Glass in Tacoma.
^^With the view of the Space Needle in the background.

Everything is made of glass. Each room was jaw-droppingly awesome in person. I can only capture so much with my camera. So, if you’re in Seattle and have some time to spare, head on over!

jenn's 21st bday

Jenn turned 21 yesterday! I feel like it was just the other day when we would come home from school and I’d ask her to make me food. Then she would go on to complain about why I can’t make it myself but end up cooking for me anyway. And now she’s already 21. Already been away from home for almost 3 years. But to me, she’ll always be my baby sister and I’ll always be the overprotective older sister. I’m so proud of all her accomplishments, so proud to say that she’s my little sister. Happy birthday, Jenn!
